Happy September, everyone! My girls are back to school this week (hooray!) and I am anxious for the fall season to arrive here in Minnesota!
The first of the month also means that it's time for the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge and this month we are revisiting the Flower Favorites set. One that was released not that long ago, but it's already a Papertrey favorite! I actually did the countdown post for this set when it was released and you can see that post here.
For my first card, I stamped a border of daisies in Fresh Snow ink with Summer Sunrise for the centers. The stems and leaves are stamped in Simply Chartreuse and Ripe Avocado inks.
Under the daisies is a border of polka dots stamped in Fresh Snow ink with the Polka Dot Basics III set. I added the sentiment over the polka dots and a bit or ribbon finished of with a button tied with Rustic Jute button twine. I don't seem to use ribbon a ton lately on my projects, but this card just needed a bit!
I played around with a watercolor look for this card using the iris in the set. I inked up the stamps and then spritzed them with a bit of water before stamping them onto the white cardstock.
For the sentiment I embossed the "happy birthday" from the Graceful Greetings set with clear embossing power and then added Harvest Gold around the embossed with with the smooshing technique and an ink blending tool. I do have to say that the photo here doesn't quite do it justice for how it turned out.
The Papertrey Ink September release will be here before you know it - thank you so much for stopping by today!
