We did a little bleach stamping last night at my monthly stamp club! This was one of the first "big" techniques I remember working on when I first became a demonstrator. It's one of the those old techniques that keeps popping in and out again.
The first card (above) it just stamping with the bleach. I make myself a little 'stamp pad' out of a felt sqare in a plastic container to pour some bleach onto. You could just use a papertowel folded up on a paper plate too. Then stamp! The bleach takes a second to start working and I love how it has that little bit of magic to it. After the bleach completely dries you can stamp over it or color it - I stamped over the flower with white ink.
On this next card I embossed the bunny with a detail black embossing powder on the cool caribbean cardstock and then applied the bleach with an old blender pen to the areas where I wanted bleached out. After it completely dried I watercolored the bunny and chick.
edited to add: A question about how using bleach with your stamps and how it will affect them: I have never had any issues with using bleach with my stamps. I do make sure that after I am done, I clean my stamps thoroughly (use whatever cleaner you love best.) Stamp cleaners have conditioners in them to help keep your rubber in good shape. Some of my stamping friends that have overused stamps with bleach said that the rubber gets "cracky" but that the stamp itself still works fine. Hope that helps!
