transition and inspiration
So my word for the year of 2008 is transition. Looking at the year ahead, I can see so many things that are changing in mine and my family's life.
Some of these transitions will be happening because of opportunities that happened to me in the last year. How cool is that to have my 2 words blend right into each other like that? I am excited to share all of this with you all in the coming year...
Transitions I see happening this year will include, but are not limited to: Hana starting kindergarten this fall, moving forward with my career as a designer and also artist, letting go of some things, stepping up my personal and family organization, working to become more "green", and working on myself as far as balance, well being, health, spirituality, creativity, friendships, family, and gratitude.
I would love to hear what word (if any) you have chosen for the year!
In the area of creativity I was inspired by Mish to create a Valentine inspiration station with my Valentines themed supplies. Just pulling it all together gets me inspired to create - it's just like my very own Valentine "shop". This is one of the things I love about my group of stamping friends - we really get each other going and feed off of each others creativity!
Here's a look at my "shop". I found lots of supplies I probably would have otherwise forgotten about to create with...
I pulled out stamps and glitter that I have had for years - just begging to become glittered hearts for Valentine cards and tags...
The little set of stamps above came from the Michaels dollar section last year and of course my new Valentine sets from Papertrey Ink.
I really love all my red and pink ribbons all stacked up...
I have so much fun confetti and glittery sprinkles to make fun shaker cards...
The papers here are from My Minds Eye...
And finally some more diecuts and papers to play with (I forget what brand they are)...
Go gather your supplies - I guarantee you be inspired by your own things you already have!

Your word for the year is inspiring me to pray about my own word of the year. Thanks so much for sharing your word from last year and how in retrospect you can tie something to it each month. Love your work. I too this year decided not to make the usual 200 Christmas cards and just order personalized cards. It was such a feeling of relief to get them all done and out in one day. Good luck on 2008

I love your Valentine inspiration station! What fun stuff. I think I will join you in taking my stuff out and looking for inspiration.
My word of the year is--enjoy--I want to enjoy life fully with all skips and jumps, but also the bump and bruises along the way.

What fun stuff! I can't wait to see what you create - especially, if there are pictures of you girls.

What a wonderful idea. Its so easy to forget what we actually have hidden in our stash and if its more visible its easier to create. Will had to get my Valentines stuff together too.

Your red collection looks luscious! I've been grouping my stash too and am about ready to switch colors. Yours are certainly inspiring!

So true, when things are put out of sight they are definitely out of mind. It's good to make use of what you have. Love your style.
