Papertrey sneak peek - background basics
*Please note that I have 2 posts today. Scroll down to see another project tutorial!*
I am excited to share one of Papertrey Ink's new sets for this release, Background Basics, designed by Nichole. If you love Polka Dot Basics, you will love this set too! This set uses the same concept to stamp repeatedly and the design fits together like a puzzle piece, without having to move the stamp to the right or to the left just like the Polka Dot Basics set. You can see more about how this works here on Nichole's blog and also here on my blog.
For the project that I am sharing today, I wanted to stamp several patterned pieces to use in a scrapbook project. I am stamping my images in Versamark Ink and then heat embossing them with white embossing powder and my heat tool.
Here are my finished pieces that I am going to use in my project...
When I laid out my scrapbook layout, I ended up not using the Lemon Tart piece. It ended up in my "maybe use in another project pieces" pile, so you may see it again someday!
I pulled out ribbon, lace, and buttons to add to my page...
I stitched and tied all the buttons on when I gotten everything laid out on my page...
I added this wonderful sentiment from Melissa Bickford's new set, Heartfelt Basics...
I made a custom colored, glittered chipboard heart to add to my project. First, I die cut a heart from white coaster board. To color it I simply pressed the heart right into my Sweet Blush ink pad.
After you get your shape colored the way you want, let it dry.
Next I added adhesive the heart with my glue pen (you could also use a glue pad or Xyron machine to do this) and dipped it into glitter.
Here is the completed page. The sentiment is from Melissa's new set Heartfelt Basics. It was perfect and I love how I could stamp the "always" and "love" separately. I embossed the words with white embossing powder.
I also used a "happy birthday" sentiment from Birthday Basics and added Hana's name and the date with the Simple Alphabet set.
Nichole has another sneak peek today on her blog with the Background Basics set, Melissa & Lisa will share more peeks from their new sets, and Lauren will have more about her templates being released this month.
Tonight is the big release party on the Papertrey forums starting at 10PM EST. Come and join us as we get ready for the release at midnight!
