Happy February everyone! The first of the month means it is time for the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge! This month we are revisiting the set Sweet Love - a set that originally debuted in December of 2007. It's a set that is perfect for Valentine's Day, Anniversaries, Weddings, and just to let someone know that you care about them.
Since Valentine's Day is right around the corner, I am ready to break out the hearts and glitter to create come more cards to give out on that day. I love working on little elements and details and then assemble them all together for my card design...
I lined up some of the sentiments in 2 lines on my acrylic block so that I could stamp a word back ground. For another idea on creating your own word backgrounds, see this post that I did on creating a collage word background. (And yes, my stamps are stained & my blocks are not super sparkly clean, but a stained stamp is a loved stamp in my opinion.)
Stamp the background just like you would with the regular background stamps. I stamped the words in Fresh Snow ink onto Pure Poppy cardstock. I usually start at the top of my cardstock and then work down.
I stamped several of the circle elements in Fresh Snow ink on kraft cardstock from the set and added some of the teeny word sentiments in True Black. The circle elements punch out perfectly with a 1 1/8" circle punch.
I used the Heart Prints dies to die cut hearts from the stamped word paper that I created. I used the 2 smallest hearts to die cut hearts from Pure Poppy cardstock that I had run through my Xyron sticker machine.
I peeled the backing paper off of the heart shapes that I die cut from the sticker paper and then dipped them into red glitter. This is my favorite way of adding glitter to cardstock shapes. For more glittering techniques, see this post!
Here is a look at the assorted elements that I created/gathered to put together. The heart shapes in the upper right were from this project. I found a paper in my scrap drawer that I had stamped the hearts from Heart Prints with white acrylic paint and punched them out to use with this project.
Background Basics: Hearts was perfect to stamp up some backgrounds with Fresh Snow ink on kraft cardstock.
I adhered the kraft background piece to a Pure Poppy card base that measures 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" and then tied some Pure Poppy satin ribbon in a bow around the card front. I used the "E" die from both the 1 3/4" and the 2 1/2" Limitless Layers die sets layered on each other to make a doily like base for the heart elements to sit on.
I used some more of the elements to dress up some 4" square kraft envelopes to tuck my cards into.
One last detail was a key charm that I tied to the ribbon with a bit of Rustic Jute button twine.
all supplies are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.

And here is the card I did when Sweet Love originally debuted. I curved the sentiment on the block to match the oval element set. There are lots of fun little details like the heart brads, red rhinestones, and dangling heart.
