Happy May Day everyone! Minnesota is celebrating the beginning of May with some snow....!
It that time again for the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge. This month we are revisiting the set Honey Bees. I love honey bee and bee images in general - they have such a vintage and nostalgic look to me.
This is my card I created for this challenge and I went for more of a vintage look and feel. I created my own background for the card base that is really easy to do with just a few images and ink colors...
Whenever I do a random/collage like background, I start with the largest of the images that I want to use. Here I did the 2-step bee using both of the tea-dye duo inks on Fine Linen cardstock. Chamomile is used for the bee body and Chai is for the rest of the bee image. Work your design in triangles too keep your random stamping looking well spaced and balanced.
Next, I added the smaller bee image in Chai ink, filling areas between the larger bees.
Next, I added some text in Chai ink - not over the whole background, but just in one area.
And finally I over stamped the whole card front with polka dots stamped in Fresh Snow ink. I love what the Fresh Snow ink looks like stamped over Fine Linen cardstock.
For my main image, I stamped the larger 2-step bee on white cardstock using the tea dye inks once again on a scalloped circle from the 1 3/4" Limitless Layers die set. I added some color into this neutral color themed card design with embellishments: Enchanted Evening ribbon & buttons and a scalloped Ocean Tides cardstock strip tucked under the ribbon.
See all of the projects created by the Papertrey Ink senior design team for this challenge: Nichole, Betsy, Dawn, Lisa, and Mish all have projects to share today.
