Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink June release countdown! Today is another group post day! The whole Papertrey Ink design team is sharing projects made with the new set Happy Trails.
All of the new stamp sets and products I am sharing today will be available to purchase on June 15th at Papertrey Ink.
I picked the quill feather pen image to work with (of course!) and paired it with the Postmarks set...
Pairing these 2 sets gives such a nostalgic look and reminds me how important handwritten notes and letters were in the past. Who can't say that receiving a special note in the mail today doesn't make you feel special?
The main image area of the card is one layer with exception to the heart that I stapled onto it. I stamped the background Postmark images in Chai ink onto Rustic White cardstock, distressed the edges with the Tea Dye Duo inks, stamped the "postcard" and "carte postale" images in Smokey Shadow ink, and then the main sentiment, images & postage in True Black ink. The variance of colors really adds depth to the card. The black ink comes right to the front, while the Chai falls more to the back and the grey tones in the middle.
On detail that I am loving is stitching around the Smokey Shadow mat in a grey thread. I can see more of this happening in the future! And don't you just love those little ink blots? Perfect for covering a little oops - on purpose!
One more Happy Trails card to share that incorporates the frame from my new Tag-its #5 set...
I used the butterfly image for this project as the main images as well as for the background pattern. The background is stamped with Chamomile ink on white cardstock. I used Hawaiian Shores for the rest of my color - including some of Dawn's new Damask Design patterned paper in that hue.
The circle frames makes a perfect place for one of the butterflies to rest and I added a little rhinestone bling to each butterfly too.
Head over to Nichole's blog to link up to the whole design team to their projects created with the Happy Trails set. Dawn, Melissa, Lizzie, and Alli will have projects to share on their blogs as well with their new sets for this month.
Thanks for stopping by today - join me tomorrow once again for the last day of the countdown!
