It's day 5 of the Papertrey Ink October release countdown! Today, on this last day of the countdown, we have another group post to share the new 2011 Holiday Tags and the Wonderful Words: Holiday sets. You will be able to link up to the whole design team over at Nichole's blog to see all of the inspiration that everyone has to share...
I also have one more project to share that uses both of my new sets: Winterberry and Tag-its #9.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on October 15th (tomorrow!) at Papertrey Ink.
The tag I used for my project features some branchy, rustic tree images. You can find coordinationg trees in the Masculine Motifs set. I combined the tag with the peace die and "be still" sentiment from the Wonderful Words: Holiday set. I stuck with a neutral color palette for this card and tag set which gives both projects a bit of an elegant feel.
For both the tag and the card, I layered the tag and peace die cut onto a Damask Snowflake and then onto the new Tag Sale #5 die. The tag image looks like it was stamped on kraft paper, but it is actually stamped on white with Versamark ink, embossed in clear, and then inked with Chai ink. It's hard to tell in the photo, but after I embossed and inked the image, I reheated the embossing powder and quickly covered it with glitter. The glitter stuck to the warm embossed areas and then I reheated it again for just a bit to set the glitter. It's really so pretty and sparkly and you might see this technique used ina few other cards I created for this month's release...
For the card, I stamped trees from Masculine Motifs in both Chai and Fresh Snow ink across the bottom of the card, as well as the "be still" in Smokey Shadow ink. I attached the tag piece right to the card front, above the stamped border and sentiment.
I created some more tags using the Winterberry and Tag-its #9 sets...
I die cut more tags with the new Tag Sale #5 die and then stamped and paper pieced the trees from the Winterberry set on each tag. The patterned papers are various ones from my Christmas patterned paper stash.
I added Scarlett Jewel buttons for ornaments and used a glue pen to add glitter and sparkle them up. I stamped sentiments from the Tag-its #9 set onto some double ended banner dies cuts. To attach them to the tags, I trimmed them down with a scissor and stapled it to the tag with the tiny attacher tool - one of my most favorite tools ever ;)
Quick, cute, easy, and perfect to have in my holiday tag pile to add to gifts for loved ones.
Tonight is also the night for the online release party over at the Papertrey forums 10PM-midnight ET. Come join us!
