It's day 4 of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown. Today is a group post day and the whole design team is sharing projects created with the new 2012 Birthday Tags and By Invitation sets. I also have another project to share that uses my new Little Bitty Bird Additions and Framed Out #2 sets.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on March 15th, 10PM, at Papertrey Ink.
My project took on an elegant, and a little bit vintage, look. Most of the time, birthday makes you think of bright and bold colors. That doesn't have to be the case. Looking at the little ensemble that I created, I can already envision Aqua Mist napkins and balloons to decorate for this party!
For the background on the kraft cardstock, I stamped an image from Giga Guide Lines. I chose the image that I stamped in the background because it is repeated in the Mat Stack #1 Collection image that I used. The solid star border in Aqua Mist is stitched to Smokey Shadow grosgrain ribbon. and runs across the card base. I used Smokey Shadow ink to stamp the background and all of the images on the tag elements, the Mat Stack image is stamped in Aqua Mist, and then I inked the edges of all of the pieces in Fine Linen ink.
I created the coordinating tag similar to the main image on the card, except I used just the cake tag image. The base of the tag is the new Tag Sale #6 die. I added the solid star border behind the tag image and over the mat image in Aqua Mist.
For the invitation, I used the By Invitation set stamped in Smokey Shadow ink and tucked into one of the new Card Base-ics dies that I die cut from kraft and also stamped with the Giga Guide Lines image stamped in Smokey Shadow. I added the star stitched on ribbon border across the bottom of the invitation to pull in the color from the card and tag set.
Next I have a project to share that uses both Little Bitty Bird Additions and Framed Out #2...
I am currently part of a book study with my church and with that we have some accountability/prayer partners. I wanted to make a little something for the girls that I am in a mini group with just to let them know that I am thinking of them during the week in between our group meeting nights. I made up little envelopes wit the seed packet die out of a patterned paper. I added their names on circle tags.
I cut a 2 1/2" circle from white cardstock and also from some of the kraft cardstock that I had printed with the Wrought Iron impression plate in Fresh Snow ink (you saw some of this in my post from a few days ago.) I then took the Framed Out #2 die and cut an opening into the kraft circle. The larger frame is stamped in Ocean Tides and the smaller in Raspberry Fizz - a color combination taken from the patterned paper. I stamped the names with the Simple Alphabet set in Smokey Shadow ink.
Inside the seed packet envelope, is a little prayer card. The bible verse on the card is from the Beautiful Blessings set. I added a border at the bottom of the card with a strip of the kraft paper printed with the Wrought Iron impression plate. I added a little bird (Little Bitty Bird) colored with the solid bird body and polka dot wing from the Little Bitty Bird Additions set.
You can also see how I closed up the little envelope. The button twine is secured under the circle tag on the front and then I simply tied the envelope shut on the back side with the twine. That way the envelope can be opened and closed easily.
I am sure that this won't be the last little prayer cards that I do, it certainly was fun to make them and think about the recipients that they went to as I put them together!
