First off, from my family to yours, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and lovely holiday season!
Happy New Year! It's just astounding to me at how fast 2013 sped by and that 2014 is here. It was definitely a big year for my family with some pretty big changes that included moving into our new home. I am excited for what this new year will bring - not only for my family, but in my crafty Papertrey Ink world as well.
To kick off the new year, it is of course time for the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge. This month we are sharing projects created using the Button Boutique set. Some of my very favorite sets from Papertrey Ink are the ones with a vintage look and I love adding images from them to create background and other details.
The projects that I created to share today have a Valentine theme and Button Boutique was perfect for adding just the right detail to complete the look I was going for.
I created some button card bases with the Button Card dies and then stamped the images onto them with Classic Kraft ink. I just love the die to add the little hang tag hole at the top - such a perfect detail!
I used the Quick Stitch Sentiment "love" die to stitch the word right onto the stamped button card with some pink embroidery floss.
I had to add a button detail, of course, and so I created a button with some Sweet Blush patterned paper and the Buttoned Up #1 die. The sentiment on the little banner piece to from The Best is Yet to Be. The banner behind the button card die cut with the Notched Star Banner die and stamped with hearts from the Background Basics: Hearts set in Fresh Snow ink.
It was so easy to put together a coordinating tag using the stamped button card layered on top of the banner die cut.
I added a piece of Sweet Blush twill ribbon through the hang tag hole and stitched it in place with some silver thread in my sewing machine.
Make sure to visit the rest of the Papertrey Ink senior design team to see the projects that they created with the Button Boutique set: Betsy, Dawn, Maile (Maile just had her baby and while she may not have a project to share, you can stop by her blog and congratulate her!), and Melissa.
