Tacy just finished her first full day of school! Yesterday we went for a shortened day, I got to fill out more paperwork (more?) and Tacy played in the classroom and met her afternoon para. Today I was back at the school meeting with her speech teacher and met Tacy's morning para. Everyone who will be working with Tacy I am very happy about and am excited to see how the school year goes.
Even though we have been sending Tacy to school since she was 2 1/2, I had a bit of a choke in my throat after putting her on the bus this morning. I know it's the new school and the fact that it is the new big world of kindergarten and elementary school. She does good though and she loves school.
Here she is before the bus picked her up this morning
On other stamping related things.... My stamp club last week was very fun and I have yet to take pictures of the projects and techniques we worked on. I hope to get that up yet this week. Saturday I am going to Minneapolis regionals for Stampin' Up! I always love these events, both the information and inspiration as well as the company of great friends and people I meet at the events. I will be at the SCS gathering on Friday night as well for the swap. (I guess that means I better get my swaps finished up, eh?)
My other big event this month is that I am hosting a stamp retreat at the end of the month in Chippewa Falls, WI at a great retreat center there. I have a group of 21 great women getting together to stamp, learn new things, and spend time with each other. I ran one up in Bemidji, MN last fall and it was a great time. This seriously would be a job I would love to do full time. I love it.
One of the participants at my retreat, good stamping friend Ellen Hutson is flying in a few days early to teach classes at Smudges in Chanhassen, MN. She is an amazingly talented artist and is representing Lockhart stamp company. If you can, I would recommend seeing if you can get into one of her classes (they will be September 20 and I would call the store for more information if you are interested). I plan to sit near her all weekend at the retreat to absorb some of her greatness ;)
