regionals and other stuff

Saturday was Minneapolis regionals - I cannot tell you how much I love going to these events. I learn so much. My favorite stuff is the small stuff, the details, and the fun tricks that make you go - oh YEAH! I always leave the event feeling good and having lots of ideas for things to come.

Here's our table group...

The fun little excitement of the day was that they were doing the American Idol finals upstairs from where we were at the convention center. We saw quite a few interesting characters and cameras... people were trying to catch glimpses of some of the celebrity judges, but I am sure they were well hidden away from us...likewise, I am sure they were entertained by our stamping seminar that was going on - because if you don't get why we all love it, you just don't get it...LOL!

Here are my swaps I did for regionals and for the SCS gathering on Friday night. I love swapping and getting new ideas for my sample binders!

I promised to share what we did at my stamp club last week..

This card uses the crayon resist technique - a simple technique that really gives a neat look. The flowers are stamped on glossy cardstock. Where you want the image to remain white, color in with a white crayon. Then add your color. This card we used a sponge to apply color, but you could use a brayer or even a brush. That's it! I love how the color combination turned out on this as well: cool caribbean, certainly celery, and rose romance. I have a feeling that I am going to need to stock up on the cool caribbean paper before it retires next summer. I really am loving the color.

The other project we did...

This card I CASE'd (copied) from the designer label punch inspiration sheet that is available to SU demos. I modified it to make a pocket card: have the opening towards the top and staple up the sides. Use the circle punch to make a notch at the top. I also changed the colors so that I used all new colors that came out in this catalog.

I have about a week and a half before my retreat and so I will be spending most of my extra time getting ready for it. I have my list going and it isn't huge, but it's not small either ;)
