faux ribbon

We were gone for the weekend and on Sunday, Papertrey Ink revealed it's 4th set, Faux Ribbon! I had so much fun creating "ribbons" to use that coordinated perfectly with my projects. This set is also perfect for creating borders as well!

Here are my projects for this set:

The "ribbons" stiched to the edge of the main image are stamped and cut from paper, the butterfly trail is a dashed line from the set. That's the great thing about acrylics, you can bend the skinny ones into any shape you need! Nichole has some great examples of this on her blog (she also has some beautiful cards made by customers posted today!) I used the small scallop to border on the blue mat and brushed a white stamp pad along the edge to blend in where I missed stamping quite to the edge. I can see myself using the scallop on many projects in the future - and that makes this set invaluable to me when I can see so many uses for it. Just in this one card alone!

I love how delicate this card feels to me. I was playing around with my set and started layering images from the set with the white ink. It just looks like a pretty little lace - did you see that I cut one out too (all those tiny scallops!)? That still hasn't become a part of anything yet, but I am sure it will... someday.

I can't pick a favorite sample again this month, but I really like how this page turned out (it's definitely in my top 3 *wink*). I used the photo corners so that I wouldn't have to worry about lining the corners up with the stamps, and I am sure you can see that I used the mini scallop on the lighter green mat again here.

The set is on backorder at this point, but they will get it back in stock as soon as they can. And just wait until you see what they have in store for us next month!
