Thank you so much...

The comments and emails that I have received have been so wonderful. Thank you so much for all of the love and support everyone has sent to me. It makes me remember that I am not alone and also what a wonderful support system I have built through my friends, through SCS, and this blog. Things are calming down at our house, school is almost over, and I am ready for a restful summer - as peaceful as I can make it anyways.
May stamp club was this past week. We tackled a waterfall card and the technique expressionistic watercolor...
I had only ever made a waterfall card one time before - at a stamp show make & take in Madison, WI 2 years ago! But I went and pulled up the tutorial at SCS, and it walked me right through:
If you've never seen a waterfall card in person, what happens is that when you pull the ribbon the pictures flip back one by one. Here's a view of the card pulled out:
Here is the card we did doing the expressionistic watercolor technique:
The images are stamped on shimmery white paper (you can use other kinds of papers for this technique), although it's hard to tell in the picture. What I did was spray the paper with water and stamped the background image (which will appear blurry - and the more blurring the better). I just used a regular dye based stamp pad (Stampin' Up! classic pad). You can experiment with misting the paper before and after you stamp your images. Let your paper dry before stamping the foreground images. What you end up with is a beautiful watercolor painting effect. It really gives your image some depth.
The other thing I have been slowly working on is my never-ending organization project with all of my stamping and scrapbooking supplies. I transfered most all of my embellishments into the vintage berry picking basket I picked up a couple of weeks ago.
The white tray insert is actually a junk drawer organizer from Target. It's perfect for odds and ends I have collected.
Have a great Memorial Day!
