holiday catch-up

So I have some holiday projects yet to share with you - I will try to wrap it all up here and then it's time to move on to the new year things that have been going on around our house...

The penguin paper from the Candy Cane Lane line at Imaginisce reappeared many times at our house through all of the holiday craft making. Brianna and I went in together on gifts for therapists and dance teachers that our daughters share. We made many of the list note books that I shared with you here. Along with that I put together a simple snowflake ornament and Brianna made up some yummy trail mix. You can see the ornament with the tags I did for my girls this Christmas...

The snowflakes I cut from lightweight chipboard at a local craft store (Crafts Direct, for all you central MN people), painted them white with acrylic paint, coated them with glue and dipped them into glitter. It was very messy, but very fun and I just love glitter. I did these during my weekend at Lisa Zappa's house and I am sure she will have glitter embedded into her dining room rug for all eternity. The paper on the tags is Basic Grey and the brads and eyelets were something I bought way back when and can't really remember where exactly they came from.

My Christmas cards went out on Christmas Eve this year, which is better than last year when they didn't go out at all. The angel stamp is from Inky Antics and watercolored with watercolor crayons. The paper is from Basic Grey...

I already bought (yes, I said bought) photo frame cards to send out for next year. I want to focus my stamping/papercrafting on fun and simple things, like just tags next year. I might stamp a few cards for close family, but that's it. Keep it simple.

I had a scrapbook workshop at the beginning of December and this is the page we did...

Happywinterpagepine

A simple winter page. The picture of Tacy is from the big snowstorm that we had at the beginning of March last year - right at the beginning of spring break! The date peeking out from the top of the picture pulls out to reveal a journaling tag.

We also had our stamp club meeting in December. We pulled out the shaving cream and reinkers to create this card...

Marbleornamentpine

I cased the layout from one of my BFF stamping friends, Val. I love her clean simple design sense and when I saw her version here on a bag, I thought of using it for this technique right away (thanks, Val!) It's hard to tell in my photo, but all the edges are brushed with a silver ink pad to give it a little shimmer. If you want directions on the shaving cream technique, head on over to SCS for a great tutorial by Beate here.

We also made these fun snowman gift cans at stamp club...

Snowmancanpine

My friend, Lana, gave me a can similar to this years ago. You can see her project here. (*edited to add: Lana's project is in the Dirty Dozen gallery on SCS and so you need to be a member of the fan club to view it) I changed it up a bit for this project.

So there you have it, a holiday project wrap-up. I might pop in 2 more projects that went to their recipients before I could get a photo. So if I remember this weekend to take pictures, I will share them with you. In the mean time I am ready to share new things I am working on...

A new year, new projects, and lots of new ideas...

Come back soon!
