trim the tree challenge

Santaornamentpine

Can you believe that Christmas is less than 4 months away?

The senior design team challenge for this month at Papertrey Ink was to create a handmade ornament. Nichole's simple and beautiful designs translate perfectly for embroidery - another hobby that I really enjoy. I used the Santa from the Believe set as my pattern by stamping it onto my fabric and then used a backstitch and a few french knots to color my image - I did the same when I made the quilt label for Tacy's quilt here. For the red border fabrics I stamped the polka dots onto them with white acrylic paint before sewing them on for the border of my ornament.

See what the other senior design team members created for this challenge at their blogs: Nichole, Lisa, Debbie, Lauren, and Amy!
