I am a huge fan of Ali Edwards and a regular reader of her blog. The past couple of days she has been talking about putting together an album to record a little bit of each day in December leading up to Christmas. I have started 3 other Christmas journals in the past couple of years that are still sitting in a book waiting to be fully assembled.
This year I am determined to get this done! I was chatting with Mish and Ang yesterday and we put out the unofficial challenge to at least gather our supplies to do this project. When down in my stamp corner one thing led to another and I finished the album pages! It is ready to add pictures and journaling and maybe an extra embellishment here and there...
The journal I used is meant to hang on the wall and is one that I received as a gift from my good buddy Lana. She said that she picked it up at Joann's. It actually came as a kit to make a baby album, but I am tickled as how well it worked out for this album! My daughter Hana was WAY excited that she now has a whole stack of pretty pink papers (from the kit) to play with and spent the afternoon punching out shapes and drawing while I worked on my album.
Here are a couple shots of the inside pages...
I don't have a complete supply list for this project and some of what I used was just in my stash from who knows when! Here are some of the supplies I used: Basic Grey papers (Wassail & Boxer lines), Making Memories papers (Falala), My Minds Eye diecuts and transparency frames, Polka Dot Basics stamp set by Papertrey Ink, clear protector sheets for collector cards, clear protector sheets for slides, white acrylic paint, American Crafts felt number stickers, and ribbons by Stampin' Up!
Really, I just went in my stamp corner and pulled what I had for holiday papers and embellishments and started putting the book together (obviously I have done a little paper shopping this fall already!) I am sure that most ouf you would be able to use a lot of what you have already to put togther a beautiful book.
If you want to see all of my pages that I put together for the album, you can find them here. Make sure you visit Ali's blog and check out her book that she is putting together for this year and also her completed book from last year!
Come back again, I finished my Halloween treat tags for this year and I am going to put my treat bags together and post them soon!
