holiday card production
October 13, 2008
It's sure been a fun week sharing lots of sneak peeks with you! The big release is tonight at midnight, when you will be able to purchase my 3 sets that will be available for sale at Papertrey Ink: Snowfall, Snowfall Additions, and Warm Happiness. I will be at the release party tonight that starts at 10PM EST over at the Papertrey forums. Come by and chat with us!
Today I want to share more about my card mass-production project that Nichole is sharing at her blog today. The whole team came up with easy to reproduce cards that will give you great ideas for making your own holiday cards this year. We included supply lists to complete 25 cards to make it so easy to get your shopping done if you find a card you love and want to make!
For each card I cut my cardstock 4 1/4" x 11". I folded this in half and then trimmed a 1" piece from the front edge - like in the picture above.
I stamped the snowflake background stamp from the Snowfall set like I did for my Snowball Mitten Card that I shared in a previous post for this release. First stamp the background in the Ripe Avocado and then stamp again over the top with a white pigment ink. Cut this piece 4 1/2" x 2".
I stamped the snowflake from the Snowfall Additions set that fits into the Super Snowflake punch in Dark Chocolate. After I punched out the snowflake shape, I stitched a brown button to the center with linen thread,
Stamp the snowflake background to the inside edge of the card base with white pigment ink. Adhere the kraft piece to the bottom half of the card and ink the edges of your card with the white pigment ink. Adhere the Ocean Tides stitched ribbon to the top edge of the kraft snowflake piece. Stamp the "jingle all the way" sentiment from the Snowfall Additions set above the ribbon and adhere the snowflake piece with a dimensional.
Sending handmade card is such a personal touch for friends and family at the holidays, I hope that my card or one of the other Papertrey Ink design team members inspired you to make your own cards to send this year!
Nichole and Debbie are also previewing one more beautiful set on their blogs today - Silent Night, you won't want to miss it! Melissa has one more day of sneak peeks for her new set too!
I hope to see you at the release party tonight! Thank you for a great sneak peek countdown week!
