warm happiness
October 11, 2008
Welcome back! Today I would like to introduce you to my third set for this release, Warm Happiness. It will be available to purchase on October 15th at Papertrey Ink...
I have always been into images of coffee cups, mugs, and tea cups. I have a lovely little collection of prints that I created in my college days that are coffee cup related. I don't drink coffee, although I do enjoy chai tea and cocoa on occasion. I think I am drawn to the idea of cups because it makes me think of friendship and family. I love quirky little coffee shops and wandering around bookstores with a cup of chai in my hand. I love chilly winter days when I have my warm cup of tea and a good book or project to work on. And so this set was meant to be...
I have been having so much fun stamping out the different combinations of cups. Today I want to share a couple of cards with you so you can see what I mean...
There are 2 cup bases included in the set: a solid one and a polka dot one (of course - you can never have too many polka dots!) I stamped the polka dot base here in a white pigment ink.
Here is the cup outline to finish the cup off. More than any other set, I have been so excited about how complete the images feel when you get them all stamped out. It takes a few steps, but they go quickly and results are well worth it! Stamping in steps helps you become that instant artist with your images!
I included a little oval mat to set your cup on if you wish. To use this stamp you will want to mask your cup. Learn more about masking here.
I love how the complete cup turned out!
I added a polka dot background, the coffee sentiment, and a few buttons to finish off this card.
For this next card I stamped 3 of the cups with the solid base. I added some vertical stripes to one cup and horizontal stripes to another - these are done with stamps included in the set.
For the middle cup I added polka dots using the reverse masking technique. You can learn more about that technique at the masking link that I posted above.
Here is the assembled card. The sentiment is so perfect for any of the beverage choices - coffee, tea , or cocoa and that particular word can be swapped out from the sentiment so that you can personalize it for your particular project. Did you notice that both card in this post used the same layout and colors - and really the same supplies? These cards would be perfect for some mass production stamping - Mish talked about this on her blog yesterday!
Need more sneak peeks? I love this time of the month at Papetrey Ink. It's full of excitement and inspiration. I am always checking out all the blogs to see what's been created by the talented design team girls at Papertrey Ink. Check Nichole and Lisa's blog to see more on the 2008 Holiday Tags Collection set. I was also a part of designing stamps for this set and I am SO excited about how it turned out! I know you all are going to love it! Melissa is featuring more about her Merry & Bright Additions set on her blog as well!
Thanks for stopping by and stop back again tomorrow to see more peeks of my Warm Happiness set!
