sweets for the sweet

It's a little crazy that I have been creating fun Valentine projects in the middle of getting ready for Christmas. But, you know what? It is really time to start thinking about what you are going to create soon... and if you are going to need supplies, and are going to order them from Papertrey Ink... the 15th will be the perfect time to get everything you need (hint, hint, hint!)
So if you checked out Nichole's blog , you saw that the whole design team has been having fun creating lots of great Valentine treats to get your ideas flowing for the treats that you are going to make for loved ones.
I used the small heart tins from Papertrey for my treat containers. I painted them with white acrylic paint - do several coats letting the paint dry inbetween - and then stamped on the polka dots with red acrylic paint. (If you want to learn more about stamping with paint, see my post here.) When all the paint on the heart tins was dry, I stamped the "be mine" sentiment on the top with black ink. The polka dot ribbon is wrapped around the tin with a little adhesive to follow the heart shape and the heart tag (stamped with more acrylic paint and black ink) attached to that with some silver cord. One of my favorite treats, hot tamales, are tucked into glassine bags (more hearts stamped with paint!) that I trimmed on the top with decorative edged scissors.
Thanks for stopping by!
