around and about sentiments sneak peek 1
January 09, 2009
Are you ready? Because here we go into 4 days of fun sneak peeks for my new stamp set: Around & About Sentiments! This set will be available for purchase on January 15th at Papertrey Ink...
I have to dedicate this set to one of my very favorite stamping friends, Lisa Zappa. This set is just for you, Lisa - I love ya rock star!
It was a stamping with friends weekend over a year ago and inevitably conversation turned to what kinds of stamp sets we wish for. Lisa talked about how little sentiments in circles would be so awesome to have, but not too big, they needed include a bunch of fun sentiments that stampers use regularly, they needed to fit into a common circle punch size, and be able to have a bunch of smaller images stamped into the middle. My head started working and thinking and I started creating and I hope you all will love this set that came to be. I added a few more ideas to the mix besides circular sentiments and I know you are all going to have so much fun with those too!
Here is one of the 7 sentiments included in the set. I also included a solid circle that you can stamp perfectly into the middle of the circular sentiment. Of course I had to use kraft paper and Fresh Snow ink!
The sentiments punch out perfectly with a 1 1/4" circle punch. See the cute heart I stamped into the middle? There are some basic images included that fit right into the solid circle shape.
How cute is this coordinating heart border stamp? It fits right onto the Papertrey Ink twill! As you might be able to tell, I am still in valentine making mode for this project...
I am pulling my card layout together here. I love doing the 4 1/4" square cards - not too big, not too small and they fit easily into the standard card size envelopes. I used some of the leftover scallop trim that I had made for my valentine project on my previous post. I stamped the mini single coordinating heart to the larger heart and the border in Pure Poppy on kraft and punched that out with a 1/2" punch.
Can you tell what I am doing in this picture? In Around & About Sentiments I also did the sentiments in long border stamps. To make sure I am attaching the stamp straight on the block, I laid it next to a straight edge on my desk and then pressed my block onto it to attach it to the block.
This project is coming together so perfect! Do you love the sentiment border? All 7 circular sentiments have a coordinating sentiment border.
Here is the completed card. This is one of those layouts that will be so easy to swap out colors, sentiments, and images from the set for whatever kind of card you want to make.
There is so much to see now until the 15th from other designers at Papertrey Ink as we gear up for release day. Today, Nichole & Lauren will be featuring Candice's new set Simply Stationery and also a new template from Lauren! Make sure you check Candice's blog this week for projects that she has made with her set. Come back here tomorrow for another sneak peek project with Around & About Sentiments! Thanks for stopping by!
