sneak peek 2 - around & about sentiments

It's another day of sneak peek projects for the big release on the 15th at Papertrey Ink. I am so excited to see the excitement about this set! If you add this set to your stamp collection, it is definitely going to be one that you grab for frequently. You will love it!

I pulled out one of my favorite Papertrey sets, Butterfly Kisses, to create a get well card. One of the cool things about the long, narrow border stamps is that you can manipulate the shape on your block to suit your design.

 

I wanted my sentiment to trail behind the butterflies on my card. I attached it to my block in a curve shape. You can use an object to follow, like a round lid, to create the curve if you want, but I just did this one free hand.

 

Here I am stamping the sentiment up to the butterfly and you can see the sentiment that I already stamped next to it.

 

I want my second butterfly to pop off the page and go off the edge of my image area a bit. After I stamped my butterfly, I cut it out. For smooth cuts around your image, make sure that you are moving your paper and not so much your scissors.

 

I stamped the circular 'get well soon' sentiment on white and punched it out. I punched out the mini butterfly from the Butterfly Kisses set with the 3/4" circle punch and it fits perfectly into the circular sentiment. Any image that punches out with the 3/4" circle punch will work great with the circular sentiments.

 

Here is my basic card layout. I really like how the butterfly flying off the page turned out.

 

I decided to add a little border detail with this flower border that is included in the Around & About Sentiments set. I am so excited about how much fun it is to add these fun stamped border details to my projects.

 

Here's the card all put together.

 

I put another card together using the same basic layout, same curved border idea, but changing the color and main image just a bit. The 2 flower images (big & small) are included in the set as well as the polka dot (you can just never have too many polka dots!) The flowers stamped on the white cardstock have mini rhinestones in the centers.
