Here's one more sneak peek project before the release...

I have done a reverse masking tutorial post before (click the link to the right to visit that post), but I wanted to try an idea out that's a little bit of a twist by doing some layering of images. I pulled out the Heart Prints set and chose a heart with a fairly solid, simple design. Also, you are going to want to pick a base color that won't be too dark and overpower what you stamp on top of the base image. You will see where I am going with this in just a bit...

 

I stamped the heart onto a post-it note and cut it out. You could use an exacto knife on a cutting mat to do this or punch a hole to give yourself a starting point inside the heart and then just use some paper snips to cut the heart out.

 

I placed the reverse mask over the heart and then stamped over the top of the image with the 'thinking of you' long border sentiment repeatedly down the heart.

 

Here I finished 2 hearts. I kind of goofed on the bottom because I wanted more white space around the heart and so did it again and masked the rest of the cardstock off with more post-its.

 

The extra "goof-up" heart also worked as part of my image after I punched it our and adhered it with dimensionals next to the main heart. I chose the 'be mine' sentiment from Heart Prints to use with my image.

 

I wanted to stamp the border sentiment below the image on the cardstock base, but didn't want it to run all the way to the edge so I used post-its again to mask where I didn't want the border sentiment to stamp.

 

Here is the completed card! The finished dimensions are 4 1/4" x 5". I trimmed 1/2" off the bottom to balance my card layout design. I am loving how the layered reverse masking turned out! (Are you tired of my little black polka dot scallop trim yet?)
