versatility with sympathy

Stay tuned, later today I will have another sneak peek project from my new set Around & About Sentiments for you to enjoy. Right now, I wanted to share my project from our design team group post for one of Nichole's new sets for this release, With Sympathy. This set will also be available for purchase on the 15th at Papertrey Ink.

Unfortunately, sympathy cards are the ones that you always need to have on hand.  Nichole has really put together a beautifully elegant set with the perfect sentiments to express sympathy when the words don't come easily.

To make my card, I first stamped the sentiment in black ink. Then I stamped and embossed the flourish with clear embossing powder over the top. The green coloring is added with a dye-based ink and a watercolor brush. I kept my color palette for my card simple. The message is more important, in this case, than creating an over the top card.

Having everything you need to create sympathy cards in one set is perfect, but what's even better is that you can easily adapt this set to other types of cards.

The only change I made to this card was the sentiment from Out on a Limb Sentiments. The layout, colors, supplies, and technique all remain the same.

Make sure you visit Nichole's blog to learn more about the With Sympathy set and to link to the other designer projects.

And don't forget to check back here for another sneak peek project a little later!
