beyond basic borders and journaling lines
February 10, 2009
Thanks so much for all the kind words about the sneak peeks for Beyond Basic Borders! It really means so much to hear the excitement! :)
One of the things that I designed the set to do was to be a building set and I wanted it to work for cardmaking, but also be versatile for scrapbooking as well. This pushed the set bigger than I could fit into one set and so I created the addition to Beyond Basic Borders - Journaling Lines. Both sets will be available at Papertrey Ink on the 15th.
I am sharing a scrapbook project today of some 2008 holiday memories...
I wanted to add a decorative border edge to my photo of my girls. I stamped the berry branch borders onto a strip of kraft cardstock and left a little bit of extra cardstock on the edge to add the adhesive to adhere the borders to my picture.
To create a journaling block, I used the dotted lines (there are solid lines too!) image from Journaling Lines. It is so easy to quickly line up and stamp as many lines as you need for your project! You are going to love the line stamps for more than just journaling lines. Nichole has featured a couple of projects using the lines already!
The number list image lines up just right with the lines and there are several sentiments perfect for adding to your scrapbook projects like the "memories" sentiment that I used here.
I stamped the border down the side of the journaling block to match the borders on the picture...
And wrote out my journaling. I made a quick list of memories from our holiday celebrations this past Christmas. Perfect!
I am using Vintage Cream cardstock for my page base and added a stamped scallop border down one edge in Pure Poppy.
Just adding a few buttons - of course!
I also added some word confetti that I made using the Mixed Messages set.
Here is my completed page.It really came to gether pretty quickly using elements from both of my new sets and just a few extras.
So... are you ready for the big surprise? I am doing a great big give-away today! I chose a selection of some of my very favorite Papertrey Ink products and one lucky person will win it all! Take a look:
Leave a comment (one comment per person, please) on this post now through midnight EST (February12th) and a winner will be randomly chosen and announced here and on my blog after 12PM EST on February 12th. Did you know that's my half birthday? What a great day to win something big! Good Luck!
