sneak peek day 3

Thank you for the amazing amount of comments for the contest yesterday! Make sure that you check back here and on my blog after 12PM EST to see if you are the lucky winner!

There were quite a few people who asked what a half birthday is - My birthday is August 12th and February 12th is 6 months after my birthday. This puts me at 33 1/2 years old officially today, thus my half birthday! I remember one year in 4th grade when a teacher celebrated his half birthday and they brought in half of a birthday cake for him - fun! I don't have a party planned, but I am going to a mini book scrapbook class tonight with Brianna :)

My new sets Beyond Basic Borders and Journaling Lines will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink on the 15th! Keep checking back everyday until then to see sneak peek projects...

For my project today, I used the border images to build a background.

I added in the mini dotted line from the Faux Ribbon in with the borders from the Beyond Basic Borders set to create my pattern. I used this piece to create 2 card designs...

For the first card I used just a strip of the background design that I created. The look reminds me of Mishie's Rib-N-Strips that she shared on her blog, except instead of using actual ribbons, you are just stamping "ribbons" onto the cardstock. I also stamped the berry branch image (which can definitely be also used as a tree, Nichole!) and added rhinestones for each of the "berries".

I pulled out the dotted lines from the Journaling lines set and created a grid pattern on the card base.

For the second card I used a bigger piece of my background pattern and I used the flourish vine for my main image. I used more rhinestones over the dots on the image.

Here's a look at both completed cards.

I am really loving this color combination: Spring Moss, Melon Berry, and Ripe Avocado. It's the same as what I used on my "thinking of you" card that I posted here.

There are more sneak peeks (of course!) today. Nichole, Lisa, and Melissa will all be featuring Melissa's new Background Basics: Retro set. Melissa's blog is especially important to visit today. *wink* Dawn will be sharing more about her set again today, too!

Thanks for stopping by today! I will have more sneak peeks tomorrow!
