boo to you sneak peek 1

I am so excited to share projects from my new set Boo To You that will be released on the 15th at Papertrey Ink. Boo To You is a simply sweet Halloween set with a number of images that are separated out into bases, outlines, and details. You will love building and personalizing the images for your Halloween papercrafting projects.

For my card projects today I am sharing the pumpkin image from the set...

On this project I used the base, face and stem parts of the pumpkin images. There are a number of solid images included in the set that you will want to condition before use for the best image impression results. You can read more about conditioning your stamps and other tips for getting great solid images when you stamp here.

I love how the star/text background turned out - it's very much inspired by Dawn McVey. Seeing so many of her layered stamping examples in person at CHA inspired me to play around with it when I got back to my stamping desk this past week. Thanks Dawn :) I used the star border image to stamp the star background and then stamped the text background from Background Basics: Text Style right over the top.

For this card I used the pumpkin outline and colored the image in with Copic markers. I went back over the top with the colorless blender to add the polka dot texture - I love the whimsical look! I went into my stamp supplies and pulled a few basic supplies to put this card together. It's so easy to create your own coordinating elements with what you probably already have. I love collecting themed papers and supplies, but there is something satisfying about making what you need with what you have.

It's the first day of sneak peeks at Papertrey Ink and there is more to see! Nichole and Lauren will be showing peeks of Melissa Bickford's new set Sign Language and Dawn will share a peek of her new set Scattered Showers Additions.
