Happy November! Today, the senior design team and our guest designer at Papertrey Ink is taking on the challenge of creating a holiday/Christmas card that includes a photo. You could easily tuck a photo into your holiday cards, or order picture cards, but why not do something a little bit different and creative than what everyone else is doing?
We have yet to take a family picture to include with our cards so I put together a photostrip with favorite photos of each family member from the past year. I really like this idea - it takes the pressure and stress off of having to get that perfect family picture.
The I cropped the photos I chose to 1" x 1 1/2" and changed them to black and white so that they would all work well together color wise and then arranged them into a strip in my photo editing program. After I printed them out, I trimmed out the picture leaving a border about 1/8" wide.
I used the Simple Alphabet set paired with the "Happy Holidays" sentiment from Stocking Prints to personalize the card. If you are planning on making a number of cards, set up your acrylic block with the sentiment and any other wording you want and then you are good to go. Remember to test stamp on scratch paper first to make sure that your words look how you want them to!
The wreath is one of my images from the 2008 Holiday Tag Collection. I stamped the image in Ripe Avocado and then added color to the berries with a red glitter marker.
This card design is a simple design that lends itself perfectly for mass production. Turn on the Christmas music, print your pictures, gather your supplies, and you will be done with your personalized holiday cards in no time!
Check out what all of the senior design team members came up with for their holiday photo cards: Nichole, Lisa, Lauren, Becky, Michelle, and our guest designer Annabelle O'Malley are all playing along today!
