holiday tree - sneak peek day 3
2009 holiday card making 101 - sneak peek day 5

take note inspirations - sneak peek day 4

Today the whole design team is getting together to post some great ideas for my best stamping buddy Mish'snew set, Take Note, that she collaborated with Nichole on! This set will also be for sale on the 15th at Papertrey Ink! Mish has been making these super fun notepads with a wrap cover for a while now - You can see examples of a bunch of her notepad designs here and I have even made some in the past that you can see here- they are the sweetest things ever and wonderful for gifts. So now, Mish has her very own set designed perfectly to use with her concept and Papertrey Ink will also be selling the perfectly sized notepads too!

For my project, I created a pocket to hold a notepad for jotting down blogs and websites while I am at my computer. My main computer desk isn't always the most organized (I know I am not alone here!) and so the pocket will hang up on the bulletin board next to me. The plan is that the notebook will be up off the desk in the pocket and easy to find! The notepad wrap will go into our laptop bag so that it's there when we need it.

I went into my box of recycled file folders again to create the pocket and notebook wrap bases. FYI - I was at my Target this weekend and they do have a smaller assortment package of recycled file folder in some great rustic colors. I didn't buy it yet, but I will probably go back and get them to use for future projects! The pocket measures 4" across, I cut the front flap to 6" tall, and then machine stitched up each side.

I cut the notepad wrap cover base 5 1/4" x 8" and then scored in from each 8" side 2 1/2". You will end up having about a 1/4" spine that will wrap perfectly around the notepad inside. My clasp to close this notebook is a strip of cardstock with the corners rounded, adhered to the back, wrapped around to the front of the book and then closes with a magnet.

I also had to make another notebook wrap using my new set, Holiday Tree, that will also be for sale on the 15th at Papertrey Ink!

This time for the snowman, I stamped the body in Fresh Snow ink onto kraft cardstock and then stamped the face/arms overlay image over the top in True Black ink. The True Black ink shows up the best over the white ink.Other ink colors tend to resist the white ink a bit and show up quite a bit lighter than if they were stamped directly on white cardstock.
