sneak peek - turning a new leaf patterned paper

home made

Heather
If you are following the Papertrey Ink sneak peeks, I know that you have already seen some peeks of Lauren's new template, Home Made, which is this completely cute little house. And not only is there the template, but a perfect coordinating stamp set to add details to your house. Everyone on the design team put together their own version of the house to share with all of you today.

I was inspired by the little paper houses that are covered in glitter that you will see here and there during the holiday season. In fact, there is a little series of houses this year in the holiday section at Target.

To completely glitter my house, I first stamped, assembled, and added the rhinestone details to my house. Then I used spray adhesive and 2 kinds of glitter: a fine and a chunky version. I sprayed the house and adhered the fine glitter first, then added another layer of spray adhesive and adhered the chunky glitter on top of that.

Complete supply lists and instructions for mine and the other design team members houses will be available with your purchase of the download-able Home Made template that will be available for sale on the 15th at Papertrey Ink.

Make sure that you work in a well ventilated area and I also sprayed my pieces in a box to contain the spray adhesive a little better. Do light coats of the spray adhesive and make sure that you aren't holding the spray too close to the house to prevent getting too much glue on your project. I did the same technique on the little trees to add sparkle to them as well.

I had to make a glittered card to go with my house. This time I embossed the window element and sentiment to make them pop on the card. I glittered the Aqua Mist piece and also the main kraft piece the same way that I glittered the house and trees.

To adhere elements to a glittered surface a liquid glue (I used Zip Dry Paper Glue), otherwise it's not going to stick.

I think the glitter and spray adhesive are going to be out on my desk for a bit for some more Christmas crafting (although my basement officially now has a coat of glitter on everything already...!) I love the glittered/vintage look.

Make sure you head over to Nichole's blog to learn more about the Home Made set and link to all of the other design team members blogs to see what they come up with! Alli Miles, Dawn McVey, and Tiffany Pastor will also both have more peeks of projects made with their new sets coming out this month.

Papertrey Inkwill be having an online release party on the 14th (Saturday night) from 10-midnight EST. Make sure that you stop over at the forumsfor some fun and celebrating for the month! I won't be at the party this month as I am spending time this weekend stamping and scrapbooking with friends down in the cities. (Can't wait to see everyone!)

Thanks for stopping by today!
