papertrey ink sneak peek - turning a new leaf

I am excited to share with you some sneak peek projects for the new Papertrey Ink set Turning a New Leaf designed by Nichole. This set will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink on the 15th!

I have personally been waiting for a leaf set like this to come out. One of my very favorite stamps images is the leaf branch from the Beautiful Blooms set. Turning a New Leaf completely expands on that leaf image with so many choices in leaf size and style. There are so many possibilities and the images are going to find their way onto many projects in the future.

For this card project, I used the largest leaf image as a focal point image, adding buttons for a berry detail. Simple and sweet and you can easy swap out sentiments to use this card for so many occasions. The sentiment I used on this card is from Dawn McVey's new Signature Greetings set.

For a bit of extra detail, I trimmed out the individual leaves and popped them up a bit from the card base.

Building backgrounds is a natural use for this set. I randomly stamped the 2 leaf images in Fresh Snow and Dark Chocolate ink on Ocean Tides cardstock to create this stamped background paper for this card project.

The other thing I love leaves for is adding a detail like the Fresh Snow leaf branch that I stamped on the kraft cardstock. This is my kind of flourish.

I took the same stamped background paper and same basic layout to create this scrapbook page.

The photo is one from my trip up to the North Shore this past August. My favorite place in the world.

And finally, on this card I created a subtle embossed background paper and then used the smaller version of this leaf to come from behind and be a part of the flower. I used the Vintage Cream grosgrain ribbon to create the flower by using a needle and thread to do a running stitch down one side of the ribbon and then gathering it up into a circle. I finished off the center with a cream button.

Want to see more? Nichole is also featuring the Turning a New Leaf set on her blog today. Dawn and Alli will have peeks from their new sets and Lauren will be sharing more about her new templates this month.

I will be back with another project peek soon! It's a fun month at Papertrey Ink!
