papertrey ink sneak peek - through the trees
pretty pastels patterned paper

inside & out: baby

The whole design team got together this month to create projects using the new Inside & Out: Baby stamp set that will be available for purchase on the 15th at Papertrey Ink. For me, sometimes the toughest part of sending a card to someone is figuring out what to say inside. I love that Nichole has put together this set as well as all of the other sets that have included perfect inside card sentiments in the Papertrey Ink collection.

And, this month of baby themed things? It's so perfect for me right now. We have several babies that will be making their way into my family's life this year. My brother and sister-in-law are due in May and we found out last week that it's going to be a boy! My best friend, Brianna, is also due in May and I got a call from my dear friend Kerry at Christmas with news that she is due in July!

I love being able to be into baby things again, I pulled out baby quilt patterns, have plans for baby gifts, it's so much fun!

For my project with this set, I went with a baby boy theme and put together a sweet pocket card and tag (my new nephew's first tag...!)

I used some kraft cardstock that I had brayered with Spring Rain ink from my previous post project. The technique can work with so many themes and projects! This time I stamped over the blue with polka dots and a little star to create my own custom patterned paper for this project.

I used the snail image from Baby Button Bits and dressed him up with buttons and twine. The "welcome little one" sentiment is also from Baby Button Bits and then I stamped the "congratulations" from the Inside & Out: Baby set in Spring Rain.

I made a pocket card and designed it so that the snail sits right at the top of the pocket edge.

When you pull it out you can see the adorable sentiment from Inside & Out: Baby that I stamped on the pocket insert piece. I like that this piece could be kept and used itself without the pocket - maybe on a scrapbook page or in a frame for the nursery.

I am definitely looking forward to giving this sweet little card and gift when my nephew arrives!

Click over to Nichole's blog to link to all of the other design team members to see their projects. I definitely will be blog hopping today to get some more inspiration for all of the cards and gifts that I plan to make in the coming months.

Thank you for stopping by today and don't forget that the online release party will be this Thursday night, the 14th, over at the Papertrey Ink forums from 10PM - midnight EST. Hope to see you there!
