just because...
January 23, 2010
The weather in Minnesota has been wet and icy today. My event I am teaching at in Duluth was postponed until March because of the weather and so it was the perfect day to stay down at my stamp table and do some creating. I printed some supplies from Sweet Shoppe Designs to work on some hybrid projects.
The hybrid card that I am sharing today is inspired by Kristina Werner's Finally Friday card that she posted this past Friday. Part of her challenge was to use black cardstock. I really don't use black too much in my projects, unless it's specific for a holiday, so it is a good challenge for me to work it in. I ended up using a black patterned paper with a subtle polka dot pattern for my black...
I used digital papers from ScrapKitchen Designs Autobiography kit and the black polka dot paper is from Mandabean & Melissa Bennett's Love Actually kit. To maximize my paper and ink, I put pieces of the papers together on one page in the sizes that I knew I was going to need.
Next I went down to my stamp table and assembled my card. Besides the papers being digital, I used all traditional paper crafting techniques to put this card together.
I kept my layout like Kristina's, but used hearts instead of butterflies and the sentiment is embossed in white on the vellum instead of being cut out. I adhered the vellum to my card using a Xyron sticker machine.
Thanks, Kristina for the inspiration!
