more with fillable frames #2

Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown! Today I have another project featuring Fillable Frames #2 and the Mini Scrapbook page die cut. You don't have to use the page die for just scrapbook pages (as Nichole so cleverly showed yesterday on her post...!) you can use it for your card making too! All of the new products that I am sharing today will be available on the 15th at Papertrey Ink.

I have to credit Jennifer McGuire with this little card making technique. She uses this technique quite often when she makes differently shaped cards and it was one of those "aha!" moments for me when I watched her tutorial on making a circle card. The technique transfers nicely for making a card with the Mini Scrapbook Page die.

I simply scored a line 3/4" in on the holed side of the piece that I am using for the front panel of the card. I did trim a bit off of the opposite side to make my card the 4 1/4" width. It's such a tiny bit as you can see the picture and trimming is completely optional.

Next, put adhesive in the scored area on the back side of the front card panel.

Last, attach the front panel to another die cut page piece and that makes your card base. The holes on the "spine" of the card are perfect for tying a ribbon through - you will see that on my final project further in the post!

Next, I die cut some white adhesive sheets (aka sticker paper) with the Fillable Frames #2 die and stamped them with the frame images and sentiments. I used a piece of kraft cardstock scrap under my white sticker paper so that I could see where I was stamping.

Once you have the frames stamped, peel off the backing and you have ready made stickers to add to your projects.

How about making labels for jars like these?

I added a bit of ribbon and a flower I put together with some of the new flower die cuts and a button. How sweet is this for filling with a little treat for a friend or putting together favors for a shower?

I also used the stickers on my finished cards made the the Mini Scrapbook Page die cuts. And isn't the ribbon perfect tied through the holes on the card spine? And I love the new rick rack die layered on the medium scallop die!

There are more sneak peeks to see today: Nichole will be showcasing Beth's new Springtime Doodles set with Lisa and she will be also sharing the new Year of Flowers: Daffodils set. You will also want to stop by Melissa, Dawn, and Becky's blogs to see peeks of their new sets.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - I will have more for you tomorrow!
