boys to men
April 12, 2010
Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink April release countdown. Today, the whole design team got together and created a collection of masculine/boy projects. I think sometimes making projects like these get put on the back burner and then when we really need a card (or other project) with this sort of theme, we rush to get something acceptable done and don't take the time we should. That definitely can take the fun out of it. All of the projects the design team is sharing today will give you inspiration, tips, and tricks to make that next masculine/boy project less daunting, and hopefully more fun too! All of the new products that I am sharing today will be available for sale on the 15th at Papertrey Ink.
I used my new Have a Ball set for the project that I am sharing today - let's get started:
I created a piece of custom stamped patterned paper to use for my project. I started by stamping the ball images randomly onto some kraft cardstock. The solid white and orange circle images are the first step in the two step stamping technique.
And here is my finished piece of stamped cardstock after I added the outline/ball images. Once you have your cardstock stamped, it is so easy to cut up the cardstock and use to make multiple, coordinated projects.
I put together a card and tag for my nephew, Keenan's, birthday. He is our sports player in the family and so this theme is just perfect for him. By using pieces my custom stamped patterned paper, both the tag and card coordinate perfectly. I also used the pennant on each to tie them toegther as well as a consistent color theme. I really like the Smokey Shadow cardstock, it's a great neutral color to pair up with so many colors to create a more masculine/boy feel.
Make sure you stop by Nichole's blog to link up to the whole design team projects. Nichole and Mish are also sharing more about the new Enjoy the Ride set and Becky's new Fly Away set. Dawn, Lisa, and Becky will also have more peeks of projects with their new sets on their blogs too!
One more day of sneak peeks tomorrow! Thank you for stopping by today!
