get to the point & more fillable frames #4
May 10, 2010
Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink May countdown! Today I have another project made with the new Fillable Frames #4 set & die and today my projects also feature Beth Silaika's new Get to the Point and Get to the Point Sentiment sets. Get to the Point retails for $24 and the sentiment add-on set retails for $5. All of the new sets and products that I am sharing today will be available for sale on May 15th at Papertrey Ink.
It's been a while since I have done a scrapbook page and right away the fun arrows in the set made me think of my girls riding their bikes outside. These picture were taken in March - the snow is melting, we don't need heavy jacket and snow pants anymore, and it's finally time to pull the bikes out of the shed after the long winter...
Of course I had already gotten the question, "will we be able to go swimming soon?" Umm, no. Let's take this one step at a time! I had fun playing with the arrows and sentiments to build my page.
I stamped up my own custom patterned paper with the arrows. I am loving the new Simply Chartreuse color being released this month and it is perfection for a bright and summery look paired with Pure Poppy and Hawaiian Shores.
I used the Fillable Frames #4 die cut to make a title block for my page - the shape of the die is perfect for using on it's own. I built my title with an arrow image and the Simple and Outline Alphabets and words from the Get the Point Sentiments set.
I also trimmed a bit of the die cut shape off to create a photo caption tag.
Okay, I know there is a group of you over at the Papertrey Ink forums who are issuing challenges to get scrapbook pages done and in your albums. So here's my challenge for you: Use the sketch from the layout I created below (easily adapted for 12x12 pages), stamp up some of your own patterned paper, and use PTI die cuts in some way on your layout.
click the layout above to see it larger.
Figuring out the layout is half the battle with scrapbook pages, and I have already done that part for you.
Just like yesterdays projects, I kept going with the supplies and colors that I had on my desk from the scrapbook layout I had just completed.
Looking at the Fillable Frames #4 set, it definitely has a more elegant feel, but look at how great it works with a bold, graphic looking theme! I used more of the custom arrow stamped patterned paper and other elements (including a peek of one of my new patterned papers - the most graphic looking one of the bunch!)
The happy birthday sentiments fit right into the frame image and there are many other sentiments in the set that can be used in this way!
There's more to see! Nichole is also featuring Get to the Point and Fillable Frames #4 over at her blog today. Lisa, Beth, Dawn, Alli, and Melissa will be sharing projects with their new sets as well at their blogs.
More tomorrow, thanks for stopping by today!
