building trees and scrapbooking with falling leaves
August 10, 2010
Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink countdown to the August release. Today I am focusing on my new Falling Leaves set and putting together a card set and scrapbook page.
I put together a video tutorial and some tree building basics and putting together the card set & scrapbook page... enjoy!
Here is another look at the projects that I shared in the video:I love how easy it is to get all of the looks that you see here - plus with using the other leaf style, turning the tree base to the side to look like a branch, and using other/more colors, the combinations become almost endless.
Like I talked about in the video, transferring ideas from a card design to a scrapbook page and vice versa can be as simple as using some of the same elements.
And for you scrapbookers out there, I included the page sketch for this scrapbook page:
Use the sketch as a jumping off point to get a page done and make sure to include some of the details that I included in both of the projects: sentiment strips, patterned paper strips, buttons tied with twine, etc. If you make a page based off of the sketch, or even just some of the elements I shared today, be sure to add a link in the comments. I would love to see your projects!
Nichole is also sharing projects today made with my Falling Leaves set and also Fillable Frames #7. Beth, Alli, and Tiffany will have projects to share with their new sets and Dawn will be sharing more wonderful peeks of the new Color Couture for this month!
Thank you for stopping by today, see you back here tomorrow!
