more with peace, be still
everyday treats and even more with my new sets

calendar basics and my new sets too

Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink September release countdown! Today all of the design team is sharing a wide variety of ideas and ways that you can use the new Calendar Basics set and accessories. I mixed in a bit of Peace, Be Still as well!

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on September 15th at Papertrey Ink.

For my calendar, I used the 2 1/2" 2011 Calendar along with the Calendar Page die. I used my new Peace, Be Still set along with the Calendar Basics set to create a page for the month of January. I also created a coordinating card and the 2 paired together (with pages for the rest of the year) are perfect for a holiday gift!

The little calendar page slides perfectly into the tabs on the Calendar page die. Once you get your pages for each month made, this calendar can be used year after year by just replacing the mini calendar page. The best thing is that this project went together so quickly - maybe everyone on your list needs a new calendar this year...

The 5X7 frame that I used to display my page is from IKEA. I like that it stands on its own and the size is perfect for a desk in an office or at home. I glued clips to the upper part of the frames to make it a breeze to swap out the pages.

The sentiments, mini flourishes and other elements in the set are perfect to use on a coordinating card. The "winter" is from the Peace, Be Still set along with the snowflakes that are embossed with clear embossing powder on the Scarlett Jewel cardstock for the background paper.

And here's one more card to share today using my new sets:

I embossed the snowflakes and frame/sentiment in gold onto Gold Shimmer cardstock. It took the simple, rustic snowflake designs to an elegant look. The Pure Poppy cardstock and ribbon paired with the gold is a combination that just says Christmas.

Being able to put the sentiment into the frame image of the Fillable Frames #8 set was perfect and essential for this card. Stamping with Versamark ink onto the Gold Shimmer cardstock leaves an image that is pretty difficult to see. I got the frame and sentiment on the same block & lined up the way I wanted too and then I knew that the image would turn out just right when I stamped it onto the Gold Shimmer cardstock.

Make sure to stop by Nichole's blog to get linked up to the whole design team's projects that they have to share. You will be starting your list of handmade calendar gifts that you plan to give out this year.

Alli,BethBecky, and Lisa will all have projects to share on their blogs with their new sets as well today and Dawn will have lots of inspiration using the Color Couture collections being released this month on her blog.

See you tomorrow for the last day of the countdown!
