little lady revisited

Hello October. Hello Fall.

Fall is my favorite time of year. I prefer the chilly weather that we have been having in Minnesota, and the leaves are at their peak with beautiful fall color. Chad and I are heading north to Grand Marais (my favorite place in the world!) this weekend to take in some of the fall color up on the North Shore of Lake Superior.

It's also time today for the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge. The past couple of months we have been going back into the Papertrey vaults (well, sort of because you can still purchase all of these wonderful sets) and pulling out sets that haven't seen ink in a while. This month Little Lady was the set to play with.

For my project, I pulled out a little patterned paper and my embossing tools to make up some fun ladybug embellishments for my card.

First I stamped some ladybug bodies onto some Pure Poppy Bitty Dot Basics paper.

Then I used Versamark ink to add the wings to the bodies.

A little heat from my heat gun along with some clear embossing powder and I have a cute embossed & patterned lady bug!

I trimmed the lady bugs out.

And used 3d foam squares to attach them to the card front. Note that I stamped the antenneas first before attaching the rest of the lady bug over the top.

I pulled out another golden oldie, Faux Ribbon, to create this sweet little scallop border around the edge of the card base.

Here's a look at the finished card. The embossing on the ladybugs really makes them stand out.

Here I did the ladybugs in pink along with a little Faux Ribbon too.
