more with peace, be still

Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink countdown! Today I have a two cards to share using my new Peace, Be Still stamp set that is being released this month.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on September 15th at Papertrey Ink.

When I am designing stamp sets, sometimes what comes to mind first is the card that I want make. A layout idea, a look, what the images will be, and what the card will say. So many times this is how it starts with me. For Peace, Be Still, this is the card.

It's a simple card, it uses a basic embossing technique, some die cutting, some stamping, and a bit of ribbon and paper.

As you can probably tell, I embossed several doves in white on kraft. Like I shared with the glittery snowflakes yesterday, I did a whole lot all at once and once I started creating I could just grab a bird that was ready to add right to my project instead of getting tools and supplies to die cut and emboss just one more bird...

I love how elegant, yet still rustic this card turned out. I used the new Background Basics: Diamonds impression plate (one of my favorites yet and it will be perfect to try out the letterpress technique, that I shared not that long ago, with.) The dove and sentiment are attached to Ocean Tides felt I die cut with the Fillable Frames #8 die. I put a bit of extra crinkle in the silver ribbon but blowing some heat on it with my embossing gun - this technique is fun to try with organza/nylon ribbons, but work quickly as too much heat with completely melt the ribbon.

There is always more to see during the countdown! Nichole and Lisa are sharing more with Lisa's new Background Basics: Christmas and Beth's new Trees with Trimmings set. Nichole is also sharing this month's Year of Flowers: Morning Glories set along with DebbieAlli and Becky will both have projects to share on their blogs with their new sets and Dawn will have lots of inspiration using the Color Couture collections being released this month.

See you tomorrow for more and thank you for stopping by today!
