more with journaling circle
October 12, 2010
Welcome to day 4 (already!) of the Papertrey Ink October release countdown! Today I have another envelope book to share that uses my new set Mini Scrapbook Series: Journaling Circle. I know this release has been mainly focused on the holidays ahead, but all of your gifts definitely don't have to have a holiday theme to them.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on October 15th at Papertrey Ink.
Chad and I spent the weekend up in Grand Marais on the North Shore of Lake Superior a few weekends ago and the fall color was at its peak. We trekked up to Judge C. R. Magney State Park just a little bit north of the city. Truth be told, we kind of were just going to get our stamp in our MN State Passport and then head up to Grand Portage, but once we drove in to the park we decided to hike up to the Devil's Kettle Falls.
The fall color was gorgeous and we took our time seeing the details of the leaves along the way. It was raining a bit, but that made the colors even brighter and the picture taking even better. You can see some of the leave photos that I took here to get a closer look if you want.
The Leaf Prints stamp set and dies were a perfect compliment to putting the pages together with the photos from that hike. And instead of putting a cardstock base on the envelope front, I left it as is and put my accent strip and other elements right onto it. The sentiment on the pocket page you see here is my very favorite in the set.
Here's a look at the 3 pocket insert pages. I stamped all of the journaling circles onto the Fine Linen Distressed Dots paper in Dark Chocolate ink and then added sentiment, labels, and journaling in black.
A closer look at a few of the pocket pages. I used pretty much the same layout again on all of the pages - quick and easy and they look great all together.
The Devil's Kettle Falls was amazing. You can see the 2 falls in the picture, one goes into a pothole opening and you really can't tell where it comes out. I still can't get over how beautiful the colors were. We turned many corners on the trail and the views definitely took our breath away.
And into my mini book basket this Autumn Hike envelope book will go - another memory captured. (yes, this gift is all for me today :) )
There is more inspiration to see today: Nichole and Mish are showcasing the new Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers set. Alli & Becky will also be sharing more about their new sets today on their blogs and Dawn will share more about her new set and this month's Color Couture over at her blog.
Thanks everyone! See you tomorrow for one last day of sneak peek projects!
All of the supply lists today will be included in the .pdf that will be a part of this month's Mini Scrapbook Series kit bundle. Thanks!
