quick & easy tags

Welcome to the 5th and final day of the Papertrey Ink October countdown! Tomorrow, October 15, all of the wonderful new things that I have been sharing this week will be available to purchase!

Today the design team has put together yet another group posting to show you some quick and easy tag ideas to use with the new 2010 Holiday Tags set. I love the tags sets and several of the images in the set are my own contributions.

For my project, I put together my yearly holiday tags that I make for my girls, nephews, and some close family friends. This sweet little reindeer is one of my designs and I just am in love with how he turned out. It was so much fun to color and sparkle up the images to put onto the tags.

I added this year onto the tag front using the Mini Scrapbook Series: Library Ledger set, cut fun layering elements with a new Limitless Layers die & felt, cut the tags shapes with the new Tag Sale #2 die from kraft paper for the base and a bit of some of my new Christmas Prints paper too.

Everything is shimmered up and ready to sparkle on packages. Later the tags will be perfect to tuck into a scrapbook with a photo from this years celebration. If you want to see tags I have done in past years, follow the links: 2009, 2008 & 2007.

Here's a quick and easy card using my sleigh image from the 2010 Holiday Tags set. I printed the holly using the new Holly Jolly impression plate letterpress style on Pure Poppy and Pinefeather cardstock. Then I punched squares from the printed holly cardstock and lined them up across the card. You could easily substitute patterned papers to speed up the making of this card.

You images don't have to be super complicated with techniques to have an impact. Sometimes simple is perfect.

I took a few more of my images from the 2010 Holiday Tags set to create the tags you see here. Both images are stamped onto kraft cardstock, punched out the a 1 3/4" circle punch, and then embellished with rhinestones. I used a Limitless Layer die to cut the scalloped pieces and then used a glue pen to add the glitter to the scallops. Tag Sale #2 was perfect for the base of these tags.

There is more to see, of course! Make sure to stop by Nichole's blog and link up to all of the design team members project that they have created. Alli & Becky will also be sharing more about their new sets today and Dawn will share more about her new set and this month's Color Couture.

Come and join us tonight at the countdown release party over in the Papertrey forums. The festivities got from 10PM - midnight Eastern Time. Hope to see you there!
