december stamp set sneak peeks!

believe revisited

Happy December! And now we are in the home stretch to the holidays and also the end of 2010. Doesn't it feel like the year just flew by? Are you ready for the holidays?

The beginning of the month brings along the Papertrey Ink senior design team challenge and this month we all dusted off the classic Papertrey holiday set Believe. This set, with its Classic images and sentiments, is one that can be brought out again and again to send and celebrate the holidays.

For the cards I am sharing today, I had a lot of fun adding glitter and bling. I can find an excuse to add a little sparkle to my projects just about any time of year, but the holidays are an exceptionally perfect reason for extra sparkle ;)

First up, a card with the Santa image:

I paper pieced the santa outfit with patterned paper from my Distressed Dots collection, added lots of chunky glitter, and dressed up Santa's hat with a star brad & mini pom-pom.

Sometimes it is fun to just concentrate on the details. The new double ended banner die (the larger size) was perfect for placing the sentiment and with the silver glitter on the edges, adds a bit of a vintage flair.

Next I concentrated on a card using the tree image in the set:

I used similar techniques on the tree version of the card design: paper pieced the tree, chunky glitter, and then I added mini rhinestones to dress up the tree decor.

This time I just needed the smaller double ended banner die for the "joy" sentiment. I kept the care base and other details pretty cimple to let my focal images shine a bit - figuratively and literally!

Make sure you check out all of the Believe inspiration from the whole senior design team: NicholeBetsyDawnLisa, and Mish all have projects to share today!

I share more about both of these cards here.

And finally, I used the Santa image from the Believe set as a pattern to make this embroidered ornament. You can read more here.
