more warm happiness too and fillable frames #10
November 10, 2010
Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink November release countdown! Today I have several card projects to share with you.
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available for purchase from Papertrey Ink on November 15th.
For the first card, I am going to use the masking technique again to create a stack of cups.
The first cup that I stamped will be at the top of the stack of 3. I stamped the polka dot base in Ocean Tides and the cup outline image in Dark Chocolate.
For my mask, I stamped the cup image on a post-it note and then cut it out with a craft knife. Make sure that some of the sticky on the back of the note paper is behind the cup image so that it adheres to your project. Cover up your first cup with the mask.
Stamp the next cup image, lining up the front top edge with the bottom of the mask. Stamp in a decorate your cup before you remove the mask.
Here's what the stack is looking like when the mask is removed. To add more cups to the stack, repeat the masking steps, masking the cup above where you are adding the next cup.
Here is my finished stack of cups. You could keep going and create a very tall stack of cups!
Finally, I masked the bottom cup and used the base image from Warm Happiness for the cup stack to sit on.
I finished off this card by adding the "warm and cozy wishes" sentiment, a simple Plum Pudding card base, and stitched some ribbon to the spine edge of the card.
The next card features another product I have releasing this month: the Warm Happiness die set. The die includes the cup shapes from Warm Happiness and Warm Happiness Too.
Look at how much fun it is to use both cup designs together on a card. The 3 tall mugs are adhered directly to the card front and the 2 tea cup style cups are adhered with a foam tape to pop them up from the card. Doesn't it look like the cups are tumbling across the card?
To add the sentiment, I die cut the Fillable Frames #10 shape, cut it in half, stamped on the "warm happiness" sentiment, and attached it to the card front with little staples.
My last card project is perfect for that friend or loved one that is under the weather...
Warm beverages and a cup of soup are a perfect gift for someone who needs some get well wishes. I stamped this cup onto kraft cardstock, using Fresh Snow for the base, True Black for the outline, and added the cup details in Simply Chartreuse and Plum Pudding.
To create the frame detail: stamp and die cut the frame from Fillable Frames #10, cut it in half, and then attach each piece to peek out from behind the main image. I added dimension to the cup by using a glaze medium over the cup image.
Today, Nichole is also showcasing my 2 sets: Warm Happiness Too and Fillable Frames #10. Lisa and Alli will be sharing more about their new sets and Dawn will be sharing her new sets and this months Color Couture.
Come back tomorrow for more for day 3 of the countdown. Thank you so much for stopping by today!
