tiny treats: birthday & more simple sentiments and fillable frames #12
January 12, 2011
Welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink January release countdown! Today the whole design team is sharing birthday themed projects with the new Tiny Treats: Birthday set. The whole Tiny Treats series a group of stamps that is one of my favorites in the Papertrey collection. I look forward to each set that Nichole designs! I snuck some more peeks of my 2 new sets, Simple Sentiments and Fillable Frames #12, into my project today as well!
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on January 15th at Papertrey Ink.
With Tiny Treats: Birthday it is so easy to put together a whole birthday theme by choosing one of the sweet little images, a color theme, and go from there. For my birthday project, I choose the balloon image and used the colors Melon Berry, Spring Rain, and Spring Moss. This theme could be for a boy or girl and you can easily change up the colors for another look. You can even add the balloons in to a totally different theme and they work because what says birthday besides balloons?
My birthday ensemble includes an invitation, favor cup with a fun little flag, and a balloon on a stick favor that includes the party goers name on a tag.
The frame image/die cut from Fillable Frames #12 works just right layered onto the new Mat Stack 5 die cut stamped with the coordinating image from Tiny Treats: Birthday. I used a glue pen to add glitter to the scallop circle shape and the "you're invited" sentiment from Simple Sentiments fits perfectly on the Double Ended Banner die - I trimmed the right end of the banner die cut to the right card front edge after it was attached.
I put the Banner Builder Collection dies to work to make the little flag for the favor cup and the banner border around the top edge of the cup.
I repeated the main image on the invitation card front to create the tag that I attached to the balloon-on-a-stick. I found the balloon sticks at my local craft store in the party section. I personalized the tag with the Simple Alphabet set. What child at a birthday party wouldn't want a balloon on a stick adorned with their own name tag and lots of pretty ribbons?
All of the balloon images are colored with Copic markers and then glitter was added with a glue pen.
Head over to Nichole's blog to link up to the whole design team to get inspired for planning your next birthday party! Then make sure to stop by Melissa, Dawn & Beth's blogs to see more projects with their new sets.
Thanks so much for stopping by today - see you tomorrow for the last day of the countdown!
