Welcome to day 8 of the Papertrey Ink 4th Anniversary celebration and the 3rd day of sneak peek projects before the February release on the 15th! There has been so many fun things and contests going on over at Nichole's blog the past several days and we still have 2 days left!
Today I have another Valentine project to share - the last one, I promise! The big day is Monday which means we have Valentines to get ready to share with classmates, teachers, and friends. I really enjoy creating little treat packages for the girls to pass out. It might not be as quick as a box of Valentines from the store - and I am not saying that is wrong because I have done store bought Valentines before when I have run out of time! I just really like making little gifts like this when I can :) I also love to share projects with all of you that have been done around things going on in our life. This is part of what I love about stamping and paper crafting - sharing it with friends, family, and all of you.
Let me share what I put together this year...
All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on February 15th at Papertrey Ink.
I brought up my Valentine stamp sets for the girls to look at and pick what they would like - Tiny Treats: Valentine was the set of choice! Hana chose the fish and Tacy chose the dinosaur. I spent time one afternoon stamping and coloring in the images with Copic markers, adding glitter and shimmer, and punching the images out with a 1" circle punch. My Hana has been battling a virus that kept her home for several days in the past couple of weeks and so it was a nice project to work on nestled next to her on the couch while we watched movies.
I cut Pure Poppy cardstock 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" (ATC card size) and rounded all of the corners with the 1/4" side of my corner chomper. Instead of doing a lot of layering - I do keep in mind that many times the Valentines don't even survive the trip from school to home - I used Fillable Frames Additions 1 in Fresh Snow ink to create a landing area for my image and sentiments for the Valentines. I could have die cut and glittered many little hearts, but I had these glitter heart stickers on hand and they were perfect and faster!
Once I had my Valentine designs done, it was time for mass production. Each of the girls had around 30 or so Valentines to do. I broke the mass production into steps: Cut all of the cardstock, round all the corners, ink all the edges, stamp the frames, stamp the sentiments, attach the circle image, and add the glitter heart sticker.
Next we needed something to add classmates & teachers names. I used the Fillable Frames #5 die cut from adhesive sheets. The to/from stamp is also from the Tiny Treats: Valentine set that I stamped onto the die cut stickers in True Black ink. After I wrote all of the names for Tacy's Valentines (she is not able to write), all I had to do was stick them to the back.
I cut and stamped Hana's labels and she filled them out using her class list. She had to make sure that she even included a Valentine for herself, "Mom, we have to make Valentines for the whole class, even me."
After all that was done, I punched holes and attached them like tags onto treat bags that are filled with candy hearts and fun little Valentine bubbles (aren't those the cutest?) We are now all set for the Valentine festivities on Monday!
There are more sneak peek projects to see today! Nichole & Lisa are sharing the new Mat Stack 4 Collection and Think Big Favorites sets. Nichole & Maile are sharing the first in a new series called Flower Fusion by Melissa. Dawn will have lots more on her blog too with everything she has coming out this month.
Thank you so much for all of your great comments and excitement over my new sets & paper - I can't wait to see all the creations that all of you make with all of the new Papertrey goodness this month and in the year to come!
See you tomorrow!
