papertrey color combinations

Welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink 4th Anniversary festivities! Today is all putting color combinations together. Over at Nichole's blog is a collection of color combinations that are some of the design team members favorites.

Now my very favorite color to work with when stamping is kraft (surprise!) with white ink falling right behind that in a very close second. Really, both of those are neutrals, but they are a staple for me and pulling color in works beautifully with the two. Ripe Avocado is probably my favorite actual Papertrey Ink color if I had to go beyond choosing just kraft ;)

The color combination for the card I am sharing today is: Ripe Avocado, Spring Rain, Dark Chocolate, and kraft.

I put this leaf card together - both the color combination and the technique - based on this project that I shared back in January of 2010. The cards that I made are also one of my favorite Papertrey projects that I have done!

I brayered the Spring Rain ink directly onto the kraft cardstock, stamped the text over that in white, added the leaves in Ripe Avocado, and the detail on the leaves in Dark Chocolate.

The Double Ended Banner die was perfect to add the sentiment (from Through the Trees) to the card.

See and link to the design team members color combinations over at Nichole's blog. Plus there is an exciting new product announcement today and the contest/prize is another big one!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Sneak peek projects start tomorrow!
