introducing road trip and tag-its #4

Welcome to day 2 of the Papertrey Ink May release countdown! Today I am excited to introduce my 2 other new sets that are debuting this month: Road Trip & Tag-its #4.

All of the new stamps and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on May 15th at Papertrey Ink.

Last summer, I went on a road trip with my mom, aunt, and cousin. When it came down to designing stamp sets for this year, it was definitely an inspiration. I initially came up with the United States border with the idea that it could be used in a scrapbook to mark places that you have been or send a card to someone far away to let you know that they are missed and loved. Later, I decided to add the map texture image that can layer over the border map. It doesn't line up completely perfectly - on purpose - and the layered look that results in using the 2 stamps together is something I am really excited about! I love it when a concept in my head works out onto paper when I finally get the actual stamps in my hands. Both images work well on their own as well and I am particularly excited about the map texture to use in different ways.

Along with the map images, there are some coordinating travel themed images and sentiments that reflect a road trip type of theme. This particular card is one that could be used for a just because card or even a graduation card. The Road Trip set retails for $24.

You are also seeing pieces of the coordinating Road Trip patterned paper collection included on this card. There are 6 designs total in the paper pack - 6 of each design. The Road Trip patterned paper retails for $8

This card is perfect to give someone who is leaving for a trip, moving, or change the sentiment to use it for Father's day. This time I used just the map texture and layered & stitched some of the other images across the card.

The postage stamp image in the Road Trip set coordinates with the postage stamp die in the Postmarks collection and the compass punches out just right with a 1 1/2" circle punch. The little map is one I created by stamping the map texture onto white cardstock with Smokey Shadow ink, folded it, and then distressed it with the tea dye duo inks.

This project is a scrapbook page from the original trip last summer that inspired the set! This is my cousin Bre after we took a trip up Mount Washington in New Hampshire - it was quite a fun adventure!

I stamped the map texture image and then added a star on the map where we were along with the banner tag with the "we were here" sentiment. I know that I will use this map and marker idea on many pages of my scrapbook album for this trip marking all of the places we stopped along the way.

This accent trip was made by die cutting the Eyelet Lace border die from white cardstock and then stamp the map texture onto it with True Black ink. The sentiment from MSS: Journaling Circle was a perfect accent to finish off my page.

You saw a peek of the circle frame yesterday from the 4th in the year long Tag-its series. This set retails for $5 and has a fresh, clean summer feeling about it.

This is a simple and sweet card that I did by reverse masking the circle frame image. I stamped the frame in Pure Poppy ink onto the kraft cardstock, covered it with a 1 3/4" circle to mask it, and then stamped the white polka dots over the covered frame. After I removed the mask I added the sentiment and paper pieced watermelon image.

On the bottom of the card is another polka dot stamped strip and then I finished off the card with a Pure Poppy banner and button.

Summer is always a popular time for wedding and so it is always nice to make up some cards to have on hand. I used Tag-its #4 along with another flower from Wildflower Garden. Everything was stamped in Versamark ink onto kraft cardstock and then embossed in white.

Some satin ribbon and a few pearls mixed in with the flower images finish off and add a bit of elegance to the card.

Nichole is sharing more about Road Trip and Tag-its #4 over on her blog today. Nichole and Melissa are sharing Tiffany's new set Est. 1776. Melissa and Dawn will also be sharing more peeks over on their blogs.

See you back here tomorrow for more! Thanks so much!
