introducing wildflower garden

Welcome to Day 1 of the Papertrey Ink May release countdown! I have 3 sets and a new patterned paper collection to share with you this month.

Today I want to introduce the set Wildflower Garden. I have always wanted to do a set that reflected my own flower garden. To do that I did actual scans of flowers from my garden that then translated into the stamps in the set. I included a collection of "wildflowery" sentiments as well! This set retails for $24.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase at Papertrey Ink on May 15th.

My own gardening skills, I feel, are still at a pretty basic level, but I love it. I tend to stick with perennials so that they come back each year (most of the time with our Minnesota winters...!) and I love a more wildflower look/mix. Things are just starting to come up here and as soon as we get rid of some of this wet & cold weather we have been having, I will be able to get things up and running. There's nothing better than sitting in my backyard, enjoying the blooms that are there because of the work that I did!

Now, don't totally quote me on the kind of flowers in the set - I am pretty sure that this one is a goldenrod. To get the multicolor look on the flower, I simply inked up the bottom of the stamp with Simply Chartreuse ink and the top with a combination of Lemon Tart and Summer Sunrise inks. Repeat and stamp the flowers across your cardstock. Here I used a map image that is included in my new patterned paper collection. I will share more about this collection and the coordinating stamp set tomorrrow!

This card includes the new Tag-its frame in the series stamped onto Fine Linen cardstock in Chai ink. The larger flower on the card is a black-eyed susan and I also added another goldenrod!

There are more peeks today: Nichole & Betsy are sharing about the new Wonderful Words set/dies. Nichole & Erin are sharing Dawn's new Whale Wishes set. Tiffany & Melissa also have new sets this month and will be sharing peeks of them on their blogs.

See you again tomorrow for more! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
