more wildflower garden and road trip

Welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink May release countdown. Today I have a couple of projects to share using 2 of my new sets: Wildflower Garden and Road Trip.

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am using today will be available to purchase on May 15th at Papertrey Ink.

Wildflower Garden is a great set to use with the emboss resist technique. I know I have mentioned this before, but this is one of my very favorite techniques! The results are stunning and with a little layering, you can really create some -how did you do that? - looks.

I die cut the Spiral Notebook Page from white cardstock and stamped the polka dots in Chamomile ink onto it. Then I stamped the sentiment in True Black. Let these inks dry - you can use a heat tool to speed up the process if you want. Next I stamped the flowers (I believe this is Lavender) with Versamark ink and embossed them in clear. I swiped Plum Pudding ink over the flower part and Simply Chartreuse ink on the stem and leaves. The edges of the Spiral Notebook Page are distressed with the Tea Dye Duo inks.

After you get your inking the way you like it over the flower images, wipe away the excess ink from the embossed areas. The polka dots underneath pop through the flower images as well as the sentiment. Beautiful!

Next is another page to add to my Summer Road Trip 2011 scrapbook. This is on the bridge between Canada and the United States where we waited for over an hour to get through the border. I used the United States map images again with the little marker flag showing where we were.

This map is going to show up through out the book - perfect for keeping track of where were were in the photos included on the pages. I will do a map marked with all of our points of interest for the front of the book - which I will share here soon!

Want to see more projects made with stamp sets from this month's release? Nichole and Lisa are sharing more with my new Wildflower Garden set and the new Beautiful Blessings set. Nichole and Maile will be showcasing this months Flower Fusion and Think Big Favorites sets. Dawn, Melissa, and Tiffany will be sharing more today too!

Thanks so much for stopping by - see you tomorrow!
